Job Purpose

Contribute to the oversight of the sustainable implementation of policies, programs, procedures, and practices that are consistent with industry standards of excellence. Perform field governance and oversight Corporate Functional Area Management (CFAM) activities and engage plant personnel on a regular basis.  Provide technical expertise in the functional area and participate in peer groups and assessment team roles.
 

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Support CFAM Governance and Oversight
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  
•    Provide input to operating policies, standards and programs in alignment with industry best practices.
•    Perform field observations of functional area activities and provide coaching and technical expertise.
•    Perform training observations of functional area training and provide coaching and technical expertise.
•    Review functional area KPIs for performance declines and provide recommendations to CFAM.
•    Review Action requests and trend reports to identify functional area performance gaps and provide recommendations to CFAM.
•    Support interaction with the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) to address compliance issues and areas or regulatory concern.
•    Lead meetings with Station personnel to address performance gaps and identify corrective actions.
•    Participate in causal evaluations (BCE, ACE, RCE) and significant Corrective Action Program (CAP) products.
•    Ensure the documentation of significant lessons learned between the Stations and functional areas.
•    Lead Functional Area Deep Dive assessments.
•    Lead functional area benchmarking activities.
•    Participate in WANO/INPO industry group meetings as assigned.
Support Nuclear Peer Groups and Functional Area Summary Reports
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•    Participate in Functional Area Nuclear Peer Groups
•    Support CFAM in the Nuclear Peer Groups Chairperson role.
•    Support facilitation of functional area improvement initiatives, projects, and resource sharing opportunities to ensure coordination between Stations.
•    Track actions assigned to the Stations that will close gaps identified by the Peer Group.
•    Participate in High Impact Teams (HITs) as assigned.
•    Gather information for Functional Area Summary reports

Professional Certifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.

Experience

Two years of related nuclear power plant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree in addition to the required experience.
Experience - Eight years power plant experience.

-    Understanding of the Governance Oversight Support Perform (GOSP) model 
-    Be a subject matter expert in areas such as Human Performance (HU), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Significant Operation Experience Review (SOER), INPO Industry Reporting and Information System (IRIS)
-    Experience of working with INPO Point of Contact (POC)
-    Knowledge of external oversight organizations (WANO/INPO, NSRB, IAEA)
-    Knowledge of working with Licensing and Nuclear regulator
-    Perform Corrective Action Program (CAP) Champion duties knowledge of DevonWay/Markaz 
-    Knowledge of Corrective Action Program (Action Requests, Observation Program, Self Assessments, Benchmarking)
-    Understanding of Conduct of Maintenance and Maintenance Fundamentals
-    Previous experience in Maintenance Leadership/Supervisory role
-    General requirements of ISO17025 – International standard for testing and calibration laboratories
-    Maintenance Governance and Oversight 
-    Have Knowledge of working on System Application Process (SAP)
-    Knowledge of procedure development and updates
-    Report writing essential (e.g. Oversight reports – big sheets with oversight insights, Causal products, Self-Assessments reports etc.)
