Job Title: Senior MMIS and Digital I&C Manager
Job Purpose
Manage the design and support system engineering functions for Man Machine Interface System (MMIS) and Digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems as defined within the department roles, responsibilities, and associated procedures.
These engineering functions are applicable for the operation of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) as per the regulatory requirements, design bases, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Manage the assigned MMIS and Digital I&C systems design bases and supervise the engineering activities of the engineering group to ensure that engineering activities are consistent with the design bases.
• Manage the assigned systems design modifications to ensure that:
o Plant nuclear safety remains adequate.
o Regulatory standards are met.
o Plant configuration is maintained.
o Human performance is adequately accounted for.
o Plant effectiveness is maintained or improved according to the corporate objectives.
• Manage the design and support safety and non-safety related analysis for the assigned systems.
• Manage the lifecycle of the assigned systems and components ensuring the mitigation of obsolescence risks and initiate upgrades following a lifecycle strategy.
• Manage the implementation of design changes using internal resources and / or external suppliers to optimize cost and schedule. This will focus on the hardware, firmware replacement and / or system software development of an approved design change package.
• Manage the hardware / software configuration control for the assigned systems in conjunction with NAWAH Configuration Management process.
• Manage the provision of support to Procurement in the nuclear classification of parts and services and preparations of technical specifications for the procurement of new or replacement plant equipment affecting the assigned systems.
• Manage the verification process to ensure that potential Cyber Security Controls imposed by Cyber Security requirements do not affect the systems functionality; the risk evaluation, by involving in the design review all the required parties.
• Oversee the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) change impact assessment, to ensure that design changes on the assigned systems are consistent with the requirements of the FSAR.Manage complex troubleshooting and functionality determinations to ensure a consistent and adequate approach.
• Oversee technical reviews, engineering analysis and technical assessment development to accomplish engineering tasks challenging for plant.
• Manage the MMIS Digital I&C provision of support associated with BNPP operating experience for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) peer reviews to ensure accurate and efficient communication.
• Support systems health and performance to improve plant reliability and effectiveness.
• Review and validate proposed solutions for long-term system issues to improve long-term system reliability.
• Support maintenance activities important to plant safety and reliability to confirm use of appropriate acceptance criteria.
• Ensure when required the provision of support for Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Rapid Response Team (ERRT) for the assigned systems.
• Support the management of assigned functional locations and Equipment master database to keep the databases current.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Ensure support is provided for the development of the MMIS – Digital l&C personnel to provide for a well-qualified and effective engineering workforce.
• Ensure training requirements are designated for the MMIS – Digital l&C personnel in relation to the assigned systems and components at corporate and plant level ensuring operational readiness of engineering personnel.

Professional Certifications
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related Science.
Experience
10 to 12 years of relevant experience, out of which:
- 4 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- 2 years of Nuclear Power Plant engineering experience.
Pref -
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with 15 year proven track record in:
- Safety Systems and / or BOP – TG controls
