Job Purpose

 

Participate in developing outage schedule according to the standards, methodology, coding, and processes for outage scheduling to support the preparation and execution of planned and forced outages of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).  Participate in developing and administering the preparation, planning and execution of planned and forced outages to support safe and efficient outage execution with nuclear safety being the overriding priority.

• Support outage and/or the emergency response organization, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.

Activity: 

Outage Management – Scheduling and Preparation

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  

• Contribute to the development of Nawah schedules for planned and forced outages to ensure all activities and tasks are sequenced during the appropriate outage windows.

• Monitor outage schedules to identify areas where updates may be required to support schedule accuracy.

• Monitor portions of the outage critical path and near critical paths, as directed by the Senior Outage Scheduling Specialist or Head of Outage Scheduling, to ensure a good understanding of critical path status at all times.

• Validate the accuracy of data used for scheduling in accordance with Nawah’s approved scheduling guidelines to achieve accurate planning and scheduling of outage related activities and work programs.

• Participate in communicating with Operations, Maintenance, Planners, and Engineering to develop accurate logic and durations for outage schedules.

• Create outage schedules and ensure compliance with nuclear and conventional safety detailed in the Nawah scheduling standards is maintained in all aspects as well as compliance with the company quality assurance program in order to effectively support safe and reliable outage execution.,.

• Develop and maintain outage schedules in accordance with scheduling procedures and processes to ensure consistency and integration with other site processes and procedures.

Outage Management – Execution

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

• Participate in progress assessments by generating the Operating Management System (OMS) reports and attending field walk-downs to enter actual progress data into the outage schedule. 

• Participate in the identification and execution of work to resolve outage schedule-related issues within Nawah’s management system.

• Identify schedule alternatives and impacts for further review and analysis to address unforeseen changes in the schedule.

Outage Management – Lessons Learned and Other

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Provide input in the preparation of outage schedule reports and key performance indicators (KPI’s) by gathering and implementing relevant information to meet stakeholders’ requirements and allow for continuous improvement.

• Maintain KPIs regarding outage schedule adherence to Nawah standards to provide consistent metrics of outage schedule performance.

• Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement to further enhance the outage planning and scheduling process, with an understanding of overall plant operations, and the impact outage planning has on safe and reliable operations.

• Provide support of schedule analysis by maintaining a log of data interchange issues between the scheduling software (P6) and other Nawah systems to ensure it is accurate, timely, and meets Nawah’s requirements to support retention of outage schedule data and reports.

Qualifications

QualificationMin: • Bachelor of Science degree. 

• 3 years of relevant experience. 

 

Or equivalent as stated in the Job Description Procedure (HR-PRC-0004).

 

QualificationMax: • 5 years of relevant experience, out of which: 

- 2 years in Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Nuclear Power Plant experience at an operational site and or Advanced Pressurized-water Reactor APR-1400, Open Pool Reactor (OPR)-1000 or Combustion Engineering Nuclear Steam Supply System (CE NSSS) Design, Work Management or Outage Management experience, as applicable for position.
