Job Title: Lead Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Job Purpose
Oversee and lead mechanical maintenance tasks using skills in online and outage work scope strategies on safety and non-safety related Systems, Structures and Components such as Pump, valve, HVAC, chiller, heat exchanger, EDG as prescribed to effectively maintain the plant and ensure high equipment reliability and performance. Have knowledge and participation during diagnosis and work planning phases to facilitate a strong mechanical maintenance program.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Experience in NDE / NDT (Non-Destructive Testing).
Ultrasonics, Penetrant, Meg. Particle, Rope Access, and Visual Inspection.
Leadership/ Supervisory Support
• Stand-in for the Supervisor or Head (FIN) during the period of absence from the plant (Leave, sickness, training) and meetings as required to ensure overall supervisory support is available.
• Support the leadership of the team and sub-teams as required during work on the field in the plant.
• Lead other maintenance teams as required to ensure supervision is provided in the absence of another team supervisor/ Head.
• Demonstrate high standards of Human Performance, Maintenance Fundamentals and LEAD behaviors to ensure competent supervision is provided.
• Continuously achieve and retain a significant number of technical competencies as per training qualification matrix to maintain technical competence for the position.
Mechanical Maintenance
• Lead the teams and perform mechanical maintenance activities to ensure all job tasks are performed in a timely manner and with quality to achieve operational readiness and to operate with the highest level of safety and reliability.
• Lead and perform planned and corrective mechanical maintenance activities and surveillances in accordance with the relevant procedures and processes on mechanical plant systems, structures and components to ensure appropriate functioning. This includes, amongst others:
- The Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) mechanical equipment, specifically reactor, steam generators, fuel handling facilities, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), heat exchangers, pumps, Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG), Alternating Alternate Current (AAC) Diesel Generator (DG), cranes & hoists, valves, chillers, hangers & supports, etc..
- The Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, including pumps, valves, intake, radwaste equipment, chillers, compressors, engines, etc..
• Perform proper and timely preparation and staging of maintenance work activities which includes the submission of procurement requests on the system for equipment spare parts and special tools to ensure mechanical maintenance activities are properly resourced.
• Attend pre- and post-job briefings and oversee maintenance teams performing tasks to ensure alignment with the maintenance standards and procedures in Nawah.
• Document equipment history reports following maintenance on systems, structures and components to maintain an accurate history record.
• Conduct periodic and surveillance tests to confirm efficient plant mechanical system performance or identify deficiencies.
• Update the equipment and material master data within the material management system to ensure accuracy of equipment and material specifications in the plant with those in the warehouse.
• Comply with Maintenance Code of Conduct procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety and reliability of the plant.
• Perform troubleshooting processes on the mechanical systems and components to ensure issues are resolved correctly and in a timely manner.
• Take out Clearances under the necessary maintenance work performed

Staff Training and Qualification
• Ensure management expectations on the Conduct of Maintenance are implemented and communicate with respective maintenance teams to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant systems.
• Provide coaching to maintenance personnel to improve training effectiveness.
• Provide training feedback on program effectiveness through evaluation of performance to ensure a high quality of training and qualification program.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
• Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
Professional Certifications
Qualifications
High School with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
OR
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent. with 5 years nuclear power plant operating experience of which:
- 3 years are in the mechanical field.
