Job Purpose
Lead the implementation of NPI programs at the assigned Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) units, making certain the program elements and tools are implemented in accordance with the approved programs' governance documentations and procedures, nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure BNPP is a self-critical, learning organization through the implementation of continuous improvement programs such as Self-Assessment (SA), Benchmarking (BM), Human Performance (HU), Observation and Coaching, Operating Experience (OE), Nuclear Safety Culture (NSC) and Performance Monitoring.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Activity:
NPI Program Implementation
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Lead the implementation of continuous improvement programs to ensure Nawah meet regulatory requirements.
•Provide training and mentorship to the NPI staff to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for them to effectively implement the various NPI elements for continuous improvement.
•Lead the communication and evaluation of lessons learned, in collaboration with Plant NPI management to ensure vital information is communicated throughout the organization.
•Provide updates to Plant NPI management on the continuous performance improvement in the assigned nuclear power plant units to ensure close tracking of progress.
Plant NPI Process Administration
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Provide NPI management with technical presentations, graphs and documentation to articulate the results of the department's analysis and support.
•Validate reports of NPI activities and performance in the assigned plant units to identify areas where additional support and oversight may be required.
•Lead the implementation of assigned responsibilities articulated in NPI's Governance, Oversight, Support and Perform (GOSP) model to align with model requirements.
•Provide counseling of plant functions in the assigned BNPP Units to ensure effective implementation of Nuclear Performance Improvement processes and programs
•Verify engagement between the NPI organizations at both plants to ensure continuity of NPI management between both plants.
•Facilitate contact for issues/concerns related to the respective BNPP Units and undertaking observation and coaching of personnel to improve organizational performance.
HU, SA, OE and BM
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Operating Experience Program (OE)
•Lead the creation of reports and analysis on OE issues, trends and evaluations to enable high situational awareness.
•Supervise the utilization status of OE to ensure it is used effectively.
•Supervise dissemination of OE across the assigned BNPP units to ensure key information is shared.
•Lead independent reviews of significant industry events and critical evaluations of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Apparent Cause Evaluation (ACE) to ensure OE is used effectively.
•Lead establishment and coordination of management review boards for plant SOER response to ensure management oversight
Human Performance (HU), Self-Assessments (SA) and Benchmarking (BA)
•Lead the implementation and coordination of all HU/SA/BM activities across the assigned NPP Units to ensure full support across BNPP.
•Lead the preparation and submit the yearly Self-Assessment schedule for all Plant functional areas and support adherence to the schedule and timelines to ensure target dates are met
•Lead preparation of reports for the assigned BNPP units Self-Assessment Review Boards (SARB).
•Validate the certified and qualified HU Subject Matter Experts (SME) Plant and contractor instructors to ensure quality of instruction.
•Lead implementation, communication, change management and engagement plans related to HU/SA/BM to ensure effective communication is used throughout.
•Lead the grading for line specific snapshot SAs and quality assessments of comprehensive SAs to enhance overall understanding of the process and results.
•Validate the completion of line benchmarking reports and of sharing to ensure learning within the organization.

•Render support to the execution of the NSC Fair (NSC-F) and the effectiveness review post of the NSC-F to ensure its success and continuous improvement.
•Ensure assistance provided, as requested, in procuring Culture of Safety Services and assessments from external service providers related to NSC-F and oversee validation of their work and performance against the assigned scope of work and contract's terms and conditions to ensure the desired outcomes of contracts are being achieved and that services are being delivered in-line with expectations.

•Lead the implementation of NPI Nuclear Safety Culture programs for the assigned NPP units, in compliance with the approved NSC program, FANR, IAEA, WANO, and other related industry standards.
•Lead implementation of the Plant Nuclear Safety Culture Enhancement Plan and actively communicate with Plant stakeholder for programmatic changes to NPI Culture of Safety programs/processes to ensure successful adoption.
•Lead the execution of relevant aspects of the Annual Culture of Safety Communication and Engagement Plan to ensure continuous awareness and education amongst Nawah employees.
Budget

•Prepare and consolidate the Section's budget and monitor financial performance during the year.
