Job Title: Decommissioning Planning Specialist
Job Purpose
Develops and updates decommissioning implementation schedules for Barakah NPP Units 1-4 by utilizing the Barakah NPP Site Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate software. This contributes to the enhancement of Enterprise experience in the planning and cost estimation of nuclear facility decommissioning.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Activity: Operation of the Barakah Site Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate Tool
• Operate Barakah Site Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate (SSDCE) Software for Decommissioning Planning and Cost Estimation.
• Coordinate with Line Manager and Nawah functions to streamline availability of data necessary for continuous update of the information databases necessary as input for the Barakah Site Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate Software, primarily by creating and updating plant inventory, contamination records or schedules of works.
• Support in development of a process to integrate Barakah SSDCE Tool into EICT network-based environment and to maintain integrity and to ensure the sustainable use of SSDCE software over time.
• Provide support in updating divisional procedures and process descriptions relating to SSDCE User Manual as necessary.
• Support conduct of Impact Assessments of Change Requests on the Barakah NPP decommissioning integrated schedule and its components to support decision-making.
• Support in benchmarking of other software and tools providing site specific decommissioning cost estimates.
Activity: Barakah NPP Decommissioning Planning
• Provide support and backup in creating, maintaining and updating inventory of the Barakah NPP construction and equipment inventory, including radiological inventory.
• Under the supervision of the Line Manager, incorporate decommissioning databases’ updates and associated cost estimates updates, including radioactive waste management plans and costs into Barakah NPP Initial Decommissioning Plan (IDP) evolution.
• Contribute to the establishment and implementation of long-term strategic planning, and support development of a robust, optimized Decommissioning Program.
• Analyze threats and opportunities that may impact the Barakah Decommissioning program. Provide support in creating action plans to address the identified possible impacts.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.)
Activity: Barakah NPP Radioactive Waste Management planning
• Provide support and advice in the analysis of estimated decommissioning waste management and associated disposal costs, modelling of scenarios, early closure events and alternative methodologies as per instructions.
• Support in engagement with internal and external stakeholders in order to maintain the integrity and sustainability of the approved decommissioning plans, waste streams, their volume and cost estimate and funds withdrawal schedule.
Activity: Addressing Decommissioning Licensing Requirements
• Provide support in communication with FANR regarding development, maintenance and updates to the decommissioning program - in order to comply with applicable regulations.
• Provide support to all tiers of line management regarding proper addressing roles and responsibilities in the evolving number and scope of nuclear facilities and consecutive FANR’s call for encompassing information.

Minimum requirement:
• Bachelor of Science Degree
• 3 years of relevant experience
• Or equivalent as stated in the Job Description Procedure
Preferred:
• Master of Science or Engineering degree
