Job Title: Core Design Engineer (ENEC)
Job Purpose
Perform core design activities across BNPP units, implementing established methodologies and contributing to the development of alternative solutions to support alignment with core safety requirements, design standards, and plant operational needs
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Perform Core Design and Reload Analysis Activities
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Perform core design calculations and analyses to support BNPP fleet activities, ensuring compliance with applicable FANR and ENEC procedures.
• Assist in the development of core designs that meet safety, licensing, and operational requirements, with guidance from senior team members.
• Provide technical input for the preparation and update of FSAR chapters (e.g., Chapters 4, 6, and 15), Technical Specifications, and licensing documents.
• This contributes to the implementation of design methodologies and calculations, including participation in first-of-a-kind (FOAK) activities as part of the project team
Participating in Core Design Plant Support Activities
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Assist in the implementation of fuel and design changes into setpoint analyses to support safe and flexible plant operation, under the direction of Management.
• Provide technical assistance for plant operation requests from ENEC Operations, including data gathering and initial analysis for fuel performance and transient scenarios.
• Support the execution of operational testing activities such as Low-Power Physics Testing (LPPT), COLSS/CPCS testing, and Power Ascension Testing (PAT), by preparing calculations, reviewing test procedures, and analyzing test data with guidance.
Contribute to Strategic Projects
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide technical assistance on strategic projects that contribute to departmental goals, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory requirements as directed.
• Support data collection, calculations, and documentation for projects involving fuel design improvements, vendor qualification, and methodology enhancements.
• Participate in tasks that support the development of vendor-independent design capabilities, under the supervision of management.
• Assist in stakeholder interactions by preparing technical input and supporting communication to help ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
2 years of relevant experience.
