Outage Preparation Specialist

Job Purpose
Assist in planning, preparing for, and creating outage plans for Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) and communicate with interfacing functions to ensure that critical or near critical path activities are suitably scoped, planned, remain on track, and are executed in accordance with industry best practices while achieving the highest standards for nuclear and employee safety in accordance to Nawah standards and procedures.
Activity:
Outage Management â Preparation and Scheduling
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Participate in creating refueling outage plans by developing preliminary drafts based on the requirements of the long-term life-cycle outage plan to keep the Barakah Nuclear Power Plants operating safely and efficiently.
•Assist in identifying areas of risk, including schedule risk, equipment reliability risk and maintenance performance risk to incorporate into the risk evaluation process to support risk mitigation and achieve department objectives.
•Attend online work management (WM) meetings to assist in coordinating OUT plans to ensure alignment of the outage management with WM, Maintenance (MNT) and Turbine and Refuel Services.
•Conduct outage preparation related activities in a manner that ensures Nuclear Safety, including all aspects of Shutdown Safety, is the overriding priority during outage schedule development to ensure a safety conscious work environment.
•Perform preliminary reviews of Outage plans and provide report to ensure MNT, Operations (OP), WM, and Turbine and Refuel Services are aligned with plans.
•Review Transco procedural requirements to assist in identifying areas of potential impact to the Outage schedule.

Outage Management - Execution
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Participate in outage execution activities such as organization and implementation of the Outage Control Center (OCC), daily outage meetings, and critical path tracking to ensure continuity of implementation and execution.
•Participate in reviewing that key schedule milestones are being achieved by obtaining outage reports and identifying areas where events or information are missed to minimize plant downtime during planned and forced outages.

Outage Management â Lessons Learned and Other
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Participate in section performance review against established performance criteria through various means such as self-assessments, performance monitoring programs, direct personal observation and industry benchmarked Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report findings to improve performance.
•Maintain information systems effectively to track work volumes, schedule performance and overall outage performance in the Outage Management organization to enable trending, analysis and communication of performance.
Schedule Training and Mentoring
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Assist in training and coaching Nawah employees on the development, management, and reporting of outage milestones to support the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
•Implement continuous improvement to further enhance the outage planning and scheduling process, understanding of overall plant operations, and impact of outage planning on safe and reliable operations.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
