Job Title:  Nuclear Advisor

Job Purpose

Support the Chief Nuclear Officer by providing advice and guidance on the implementation of the nuclear operational strategies and plans to ensure alignment with the overall BNPP strategy. Support in assuring the safety and overall effectiveness of operations. Provide inputs to the strategy that is applicable in order to achieve optimal operational excellence in line with the industry standards of nuclear safety, security, and liability.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Operational Performance Strategy

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  

• Review the operations of Nawah and the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) along with the CNO to ensure its credibility as a nuclear organization.

• Facilitate through research proposals for the areas that require improvement and enhancement to ensure optimal operations of the BNPP.

• Support in maintaining the integration the Enterprise, BNPP, KEPCO, KHNP to ensure the maximization of the value, visibility, and impact of the nuclear program.

• Act as a liaison between the BNPP and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), World Association of Nuclear Operations (WANO), the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), Committee for Nuclear Power  (CNP), and Nuclear Safety Review Board (NSRB) to ensure open communication and compliance with all regulations and requirements with best practices.

• Support the CNO with appropriate governance and oversights when illustrating the CNO organizational frameworks and processes that with support the organization 

• Provide inputs on strategies that will effectively support in managing the relationship with vendors and contractors which require  building high levels of trust and understanding with key internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure full compliance with the industry and the ability to promote broader understanding of the corporate interest and practices.

• Support in the development of critical initiatives strategically targeted to improve efficiency and maximize safety and operational performance.

• Guide the CNO on providing direction to all subordinate functions to ensure they are fully operational, achieving their production objectives and maintaining operational excellence.

• Oversee and monitor the authorization and challenge corrective actions requested by all Organizational Units within the CNO organization to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plants.

Culture of Safety:

• Guide in formulating a strong nuclear safety culture for the nuclear industry in the UAE by monitoring the endorsement of the application and compliance to the highest level of nuclear safety standards.

• Oversee and certify the nuclear and personnel related safety activities, throughout the CNO Organization are conducted to high standards in accordance with plan and central processes and procedures.

Activity: 

Corporate Strategy and Leadership 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

• Collaborate with Nawah, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), and Barakah One Company executives to develop Enterprise strategies, plans, goals and objectives.

• Lead the development and implementation of the organizational unit’s strategy and Business Plan ensuring its alignment with the broader corporate objectives of the Organization 

• Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to Nawah’s vision,
