Talent Pipeline Programs

The purpose of the Talent Pipeline Programs is to support the creation and development of a sustainable pool of competent UAE Nationals in the nuclear industry to become nuclear professionals with the right core and technical skills.

Train for Work Program

Part of the Abu Dhabi government's policy plans to interact with key stakeholders in society is to provide more job opportunities for Emirati graduates whose numbers are increasing at a fast pace every year.  To support this,  Human Resources Authority (HRA) has launched an initiative (‘Train for Work’) which aims to develop job seekers' “unemployed UAE Nationals” who are registered in their database as “Actively looking for a job” to enable them to gain workplace experience which should improve their opportunity to get a job in future.

Admission criteria for Train for Work Program: 

1.Must be a UAE National.

2.Should have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5 (out of 4.0).

3.English Proficiency: IELTS Academic band 5.0

4.Registered in Tawteen/HRA

5.Job seekers who are currently unemployed

6.The study major should be relevant to the host department core business

7.Trainees who are relatives cannot be allocated in the same department.

Graduate Trainee Development Program

This program is designed to enable fresh graduates with a Bachelor’ in Engineering (or equivalent), to gain knowledge, understanding and experience of nuclear–specific functions, vital for the safe operation of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.

The program demonstrates the Enterprise’s commitment towards Emiratization to develop UAE National Human Capital and thereby support capability building efforts. The objectives are to encourage, support and nurture the next generation of UAE Nationals to discover and pursue career in nuclear and the disciplines relevant to the Enterprise future direction, enabling them to become a part of and contribute to UAE’s Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program.  Graduate Trainees will be equipped with a solid foundation of technical and nuclear knowledge, key 

programs, processes, and standards, and they will also focus on personal effectiveness to successfully transition from university to the workplace.

Admission criteria for Graduate Trainee Development Program: 

Must be a UAE National.

Age: not older than 25 years-old.

English Proficiency: IELTS Academic band 6.0 or equivalent.

Graduated Student with Engineering disciplines with a minimum  cumulative GPA of 3.0

Completed National Military Service if required

Diploma in Nuclear Technology (DNT)

The Diploma in Nuclear Technology (DNT) is an entry level program which provides the initial training for UAE national high school graduates who wish to join the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program as an equipment operator at the Barakah Nuclear Energy plant, located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE.

These are very important roles to ensure we safely operate and maintain the Barakah Plant to deliver clean electricity to the UAE.

As a UAE National trainee, you will develop knowledge and understanding about the technician positions, science and engineering fundamentals that underpin them, as well as nuclear plant systems. You will also undertake practical training in the workplace to meet the requirements of a local operator.

The Program Has a duration of 24 months and will be delivered at HQ in Abu Dhabi and at the Barakah Plant, By Nawah Energy Company, the operation and maintenance subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy corporation (ENEC), and external providers where required.

The 2nd intake will be fore the Diploma of Nuclear Power Plan Operations includes the training for Local operators, and will start Fall 2024

Admission Criteria:

  • UAE national
  • Age Between 18-25
  • High School Certificate 60% or above
  • IELTS (5.5)
  • Completed National Military Service
